Die Anfänge

Schloss Kirchberg is located in the town of Kirchberg an der Raab, a municipality in Styria in southeastern Austria. The commander Count Siegbert Heister bought the estate in 1696. In 1704, he had Italian master builders construct the current castle on the site of an old tabor. Further owners included the Counts Katzianer, from the 19th century until 1921 the Princes of Liechtenstein, in 1921 Alois Lenz, in 1955 Wolfgang Fikentscher and Marie-Therese Countess Herberstein.
