Kefikon Castle
The castle was first mentioned in a document in 1241 in connection with its then owner, the Kyburg vassal Burchardus de Kevincon. The eventful history of the castle and its owners lost its feudal significance with the abolition of manorial jurisdiction after 1798 and became a grand bourgeois country estate, including for Hans Conrad Escher von der Linth, known for the construction of the Linth Canal. The castle is located near Frauenfeld, right next to Islikon.
Today, the castle is also known for the Schloss Kefikon private school, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2006. The boarding school grounds also include Switzerland's largest natural pond, which is 100 meters long and 30 meters wide.
