History+
The castle was first mentioned in 1398 as being owned by Wolfram, Thomas, and Heinz von Reitzenstein, who were enfeoffed with the Issigau outpost by Burgrave Johann III of Nuremberg. A new building was constructed in the 16th century. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was conquered and destroyed by King Gustav Adolf of Sweden and subsequently rebuilt. In 1750, ownership passed to Johann Casimir von Beust, who expanded and rebuilt the castle. Since 1976, the castle has been owned by the Wolfgang Braitmaier family.
