Hünegg Castle
Hünegg Castle in Hilterfingen on Lake Thun is a stately country residence with a very rare original interior. The lively atmosphere of the household gives the impression that the owners are only briefly absent.
Built from 1861 to 1863 by Baron Albert von Parpart in the Historicist style with forms of Renaissance castles on the Loire, the house was slightly extended in 1900 by Gustav Lemke-Schuckert and largely redecorated in Art Nouveau style. The interior is characterized by selected, precious materials and rich furnishings. In addition to the rooms of the Museum of Historicism and Art Nouveau Living Culture, premises for special exhibitions are also available.
The magnificent residence is situated in an enchanting park with old trees - Open from mid-May to mid-October, Monday – Saturday 2 – 5 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
