Vom Gut zum Schloss
As early as the 14th century, an agricultural estate is mentioned on the site of the present castle. In the first half of the 17th century, Duke Wolfgang Wilhelm transferred ownership to the Jesuit College Neuburg. In 1782, ownership changed to the Maltese Johann Freiherr Baptist Freiherr von Flachslanden. From 1810-16, the castle was converted into a three-wing complex by the master builders Friedrich and Franz Anton Bögler. In 1988, the castle was severely damaged by a fire and rebuilt by 2005.
