Die Anfänge
Schloss Hemmersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1150 as property of the Lords of Hymmersdorf. The fief passed into the possession of the Bechel family in 1450 and was taken over by Johann Zandt von Merl in 1589. Franz Duhan, later Count Duhan, acquired rights and estates in 1719. The current owners are committed to the restoration and preservation of the castle.
