Haus Castle

The building, at its core, dates back to the 16th century and served until 1803 as the official residence of the administrators (Pfleger) of the Archbishopric of Salzburg. The facade has been extensively renovated; on the north side, the coat of arms of Archbishop Hieronymus Graf Colloredo von Wallsee is displayed.

The original structure of the building reflects the architectural style of the 16th century, characterized by robust stone walls and small window openings. Over the centuries, the building underwent several transformations, adapting to the changing needs of its inhabitants.

The 18th Century Renovation

A significant renovation took place in the 18th century under Archbishop Hieronymus Graf Colloredo von Wallsee. During this period, the facade was modernized, and larger windows were installed to allow more light into the interior. The coat of arms, prominently displayed on the north side, serves as a reminder of this era.

Later Modifications

In the 19th and 20th centuries, further modifications were made, primarily to adapt the building for new uses. These changes, however, largely preserved the historical character of the building, making it a unique example of architectural evolution.
