Today's House Harderode was built in 1896 on the walls of a previous building. The owners were the Lords of Schicheldt. Ownership changed in 1542 to the Lords of Heimburg, in 1706 to the Lords of Münchhausen, in 1726 to the Lords of Nölting, and in 1853 to Hubertus von Blum. The latter sold the property in 1899.
