Haga Palace
Haga Palace, originally known as the Queen's Pavilion, is an elegant structure in the Italian villa style, located in Solna, Sweden. It currently serves as the official residence of Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel, representing a significant example of royal residential culture.
History+
Haga Palace was constructed between 1802 and 1805 for Gustav IV Adolf, with architect Christoffer Gjörwell responsible for its design. Many members of the royal family, including the current King Carl XVI Gustaf and his sisters, the so-called "Haga Princesses," were born here. Following the death of Hereditary Prince Gustav Adolf in 1947, the royal family moved out, and in 1966, King Gustav VI Adolf entrusted the palace to the Swedish government to serve as a guesthouse for prominent state visitors. In April 2009, the Swedish government decided to allocate the palace as the residence for Crown Princess Victoria and her future husband Daniel Westling. Since their wedding in 2010, they have resided in the palace, which was decorated by Victoria's sister, Princess Madeleine.
