Häckeberga Castle

The castle was inhabited by Eske Brock in 14th Century during the time of Queen Margaret. Later moved the possession to the family Hack. 1528 the castle changed by marriage to the family Ulfstand which they retained until the 1652. 1530 was Holger Gregersen Ulfstand built on the walls of the old castle, a fortress with two strong towers, ramparts and drawbridge. In 1678 the castle was destroyed in the Swedish war. Thereafter it was repaired only barely. 1720 the possession moved to the family Silfverskiöld and 1820 to Anders Wollmar. His daughter was married to Baron Carl Gustaf Wrangel of Brehmer. The present castle was built in 1873-75 in the French Renaissance style of Tönnes Wrangel Brehmer of drawings by Helgo Zettervall. The building was renovated in 1990 and serves as a restaurant and hotel.
