Günzburg Castle
The castle was built in 1452 by Knight Hans von Stain zu Ronsberg. In 1566, ownership transferred to Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol. From 1577, a new construction took place. In 1609, the interior was redesigned by Margrave Karl. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was damaged and subsequently rebuilt. In 1703, the castle almost completely burned down and was subsequently rebuilt in Baroque style. In 1769-70, alterations were made. On April 9, 1945, the south and north wings were destroyed in a bombing raid. Reconstruction took place after 1945.
