Groß Kedingshagen Castle

The manor house Groß Kedingshagen is a manor house on the northern edge of the eponymous district of the municipality Kramerhof in the district Vorpommern-Rügen. The Neo-Gothic manor house is a two-story, multi-axis plastered building with a striking hexagonal tower with an equally hexagonal lantern attachment on the south side. Southeast of the building is the large estate with mostly two-story, Neo-Gothic brick buildings from the years between 1860 and 1880. North of the manor house is a large garden with a larger tree population. The manor house was built before 1835 on behalf of the Stralsund shipowner and consul J. C. Bartels. After his death in 1864, the manor house and the estate were converted into a private foundation. In 1937, the estate came into the possession of the Schirmann family. In 1945, the property was expropriated. Since 1997, the manor house has been in private ownership and is used as a residential building.
