Gasselberg Castle

Schloss Gasselberg is located in the municipality of Krottendorf-Gaisfeld in Styria and still possesses a late medieval core from the 15th century. Expanded to about two-thirds of its current size around 1780, it received its present appearance through another expansion after 1919.

For over two hundred years, the castle was owned by the Knights of Schreiner and housed one of the largest private collections of paintings by the famous Baroque painter known as Kremser Schmidt. Inside the romantic castle building, the Baroque house chapel has been preserved.
