Fischbach Castle

The Wangenheim Castle on the village square was started in 1587 by Christoph von Wangenheim and completed and inhabited in 1639 by his son, the ducal chief forester and master hunter Hans Ludwig von Wangenheim. The front door, several room doors and the stucco ceilings in the hall-like rooms, which are now partly divided into several rooms, bear witness to artistic taste. Since 1992, the stately half-timbered building has housed the seat of the Emsetal municipal administration. Extensive construction and reconstruction measures were carried out between 1993 and 1998.
