Das Schloss wurde 1770-71 durch Graf Franz I. zu Erbach-Erbach erbaut und 1800 als Sommerresidenz ausgebaut. 1846 erfolgte unter Graf Eberhard ein weiterer Umbau. Es ist heute Wohnsitz der gräflichen Familie zu Erbach-Erbach.
