Erstavik Castle

Erstavik Castle

To be privately owned

1356 Erstavik is first mentioned in the possession of the noble Bengt Larsson. 1364 King Albert pledged the property to the Pope, as its last owner Nils Turesson (Bielke) had large debts. In the 15th Century was the estate owned by Katarina Henningsdotter (Königsmark) and later her daughter Anna Markvardsdotter (stolpe). Thereafter inherited Anna's daughter Ingeborg Ragvaldsdotter (Bonde) possession. In the 18th Century the castle came into the possession of the Petersen family (Knights of Petersen), which it still belongs.

The present castle was built in 1760 by architect Jean Eric Rehn.
