Engabrunn Castle

The so-called Naglhof is the former seat of the estate manager of Grafenegg. From 1683, it was owned by Dürnstein Abbey and was used as a reading house and wine tavern. Since 1760, the building has been a rectory. The two-story, cubic building features a simple structure with cordon bands. It is covered by a hip roof with a dormer gable. The central risalit is possibly a former Renaissance oriel. On the ground floor and upper floor, the rooms have cross-rib vaults and barrel vaults with lunettes and plastered ribs from the late 16th century. On the street side, there are coved flat ceilings with stucco-cut mirrors from the 18th century. In the oriel, on both floors, there are separated cross-rib vaults from the late 16th century. The furnishings include Biedermeier stoves from the first half of the 19th century.
