Only the administrative wing (built 1686 - 89) of the former Emtmannsberg Castle has been preserved. The actual castle (Scharfes Eck) was demolished by approximately 1812. The existing building was constructed by Erdmann von Stein. Later it came into margravial possession and was "utilized".
