The first castle in Elverdinge was built around the 12th century and was belonged to the Counts of Flanders. 1629 transferred the ownership of Adrian Vander Borcht, which renovated the castle. 1870 transferred the ownership of the Marquises Victor d'Ennetière, who built the present castle. During World War I the castle was burned down and was rebuilt in 1925.
