Ebermannsdorf Castle

As early as 1480, a second manor house was mentioned below the old castle, which was held by the von Löfen (Loefen) family in the 17th and early 18th centuries. Johann Joseph Freiherr von Dürr (Dyrr) followed, who probably built the present castle using the old masonry. It is the landmark and center of Ebermannsdorf.
Building History+
The main building is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof, built on an L-shaped ground plan. The core of the building dates back to the 17th century. The castle was rebuilt in 1720 and 1731. The chapel was added in 1731. The castle was extensively renovated in 1970.
Chapel of St. Joseph+
The castle chapel of St. Joseph is located in the east wing of the castle. It was built in 1731 and is decorated with frescoes by Otto Gebhard. The chapel is a protected monument.
Current Use+
The castle is privately owned and is not open to the public. It is used as a residential building. The castle park is partially accessible.
