Dürrenmungenau Castle
Dürrenmungenau Castle is a moated castle in the Historicist style, located in the Dürrenmungenau district of Abenberg in the Middle Franconian district of Roth, Bavaria. The castle and its outbuildings are listed as historical monuments.
In 1278, Dürrenmungenau was first mentioned as Mungenau. At that time, there was a fortified house to secure the road from Nuremberg to Augsburg.
After the town and the castle were destroyed in the Thirty Years' War and the town became a wasteland, Dürrenmungenau was bought in 1651 by Jobst Christoph Kress von Kressenstein from Nuremberg and resettled. The castle was rebuilt in Baroque style from 1720-1725 and used by the Kress von Kressenstein family as a summer residence. Since 1896, the castle has been owned by the Barons Leuckart von Weissdorf and their descendants.
Around 1900, the castle was redesigned and renovated in the Historicist style, which also included the construction of new farm buildings.

The castle complex consists of the castle, castle park, orchard, and manor farm, enclosed by a sandstone wall with onion domes.
