History of the Building+
A fortified house is first mentioned in 1135 and 1156 as being owned by "Ruediger de Drozze". Around 1300, extensions and alterations were carried out. Ownership changed in 1388 to Lienhart von Raxbach, in 1427 to Jörg Mühlfelder, and in 1503 to Wolfgang Heidelberger. The current three-story, four-wing complex with surrounding wall dates from the 16th century. After this, ownership changed in 1604 to the Barons of Kainach and in 1622 to Sebastian von Lindegg. The castle burned down in 1671 and was rebuilt and extended in Baroque style in 1726 by Johann Georg Pichelsdorf. From 1884 until after 1945, the castle was owned by the Knights of Gutmann.
