Dorotheenhof Castle
The Dorotheenhof, formerly also called Margarethenhof and Oberburg, is probably much older than the "Essinger Castle". However, the first source is only found in a document from December 13, 1696. The castle built by Maximilian Freiherr von Woellwarth was sold to the Freiherren von Degenfeld - "together with its noble house, called Oberburg". In 1910, ownership changed to Max Freiherr von Woellwarth. The castle is now privately owned by the von Unger family.
