Donaueschingen Castle

Schloss Donaueschingen+
Schloss Donaueschingen and its park are the main attractions of the city. The castle was built in 1723 as an elongated functional building. In 1893/96 it was redesigned in the Neo-Baroque style and provided with a dome. The associated stables were built in 1850 by Theodor Dibold. Another building of the castle complex is the court library and archive, built as a government building from 1732 to 1735. The Fürstlich Fürstenbergischen Collections are now housed in the Karlsbau, built in 1869.
