Dahlhausen Castle (Halingen)

To be privately owned

Dahlhausen Castle, also known as Haus Dahlhausen, is located on Gruländer Straße in the village of Dahlhausen, which belongs to the Halingen district of Menden. Only a few remnants of the original complex remain. The current manor house with a mansard roof was only built between 1891 and 1893. It has been a protected monument since December 4, 1984.

The first documented owner of the complex was Wilm von Dahlhausen in 1268. He was followed by numerous other owners before Baron Franz Egon von Fürstenberg reunited his family's widely scattered possessions – including Dahlhausen – under one hand.

The castle is still privately owned by Baroness von Fürstenberg-Dahlhausen today. A visit is therefore not possible.
