The manor house was built in 1744 by the von Borstell family on the site of a medieval moated castle. At the end of the 19th century, various alterations and extensions were made. In 1970, a children's home was established in the castle.

Exterior
The manor house is a two-story plastered building with a mansard roof. The facade is structured by pilasters and cornices. The central risalit is crowned by a triangular gable.
Interior
The interior of the manor house has been preserved in parts. Especially noteworthy are the festive hall with its stucco ceiling and the historic tiled stoves.
Current Use+
Today, the manor house of Hohenzieritz is privately owned and is used for residential purposes. Parts of the building are also used for cultural events.
