Arnsdorf Castle

At the beginning of the 16th century, there were two manors in Arnsdorf, which belonged to the families von Debschütz and von Notenhof. Both estates were bought and merged in 1523 and 1536 by Hans von Gersdorff auf Döbschütz. The property changed hands in 1603 to Karl von Fürstenau, in 1649 to Caspar Christoph von Kottwitz, in 1775 to the Lords von Goldschmid, in 1781 to Jakob Johannes Verbeek, and in 1789 to Carl Gottlob von Nostitz. Until their forced expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945, the estate was owned by the Wiedebach and Nostitz family. The last owner of the estate in 1945 was Harry von Wiedebach. His grandson Hansheinrich Schnorr von Carolsfeld reacquired the estate between 1996 and 2004 and renovated it.

In 1856, the castle was rebuilt under Carl Friedrich Erdmann von Wiedebach.
