Amtzell Castle

The three-story rectangular building with a hip roof and two towers crowned with pointed spires dates from the 15th century and was rebuilt to its current appearance in 1752-1754 under Johann Maria Carl Josef Freiherr Reichlin von Meldegg by Baroque master builder Joh. Georg Specht from Lindenberg. The castle has been owned by the municipality of Amtzell since 1839 and was extensively renovated in 1993/94. Today it serves as a publicly accessible cultural center, whose ballrooms, the Reichlin-Meldegg Hall (150 people) and the Altmannshausen Hall (130 people), can be rented for any celebrations and other occasions.
