Mistelbach Castle

The origin of the castle lies in an old fortress, which was mentioned in 1330. The fortress was demolished in 1597. The Mistelbach Castle was built from 1724 to 1742 over the extensive cellar system of the old fortress. Adjoining it are single-story baroque economic wings and a gate wall. Access to the inner courtyard is provided by a basket-arch portal, on whose keystone there is a relief with a miraculous image. In the courtyard stands a baroque putto marked with the year 1725. The museum's collection includes baroque oil paintings and sculptures as well as furniture from the 17th to the 19th century.
