Vorderburg Castle (Ruin) (Rüdesheim)
The Vorderburg is located in the old town of Rüdesheim am Rhein on the southwest edge of the market square. Since 2002, the Vorderburg has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley.
The first mention of a noble family dates back to 1189. Later, the castle passed into the possession of the Brömser von Rüdesheim. The castle was probably destroyed in 1640 by French soldiers, just like the Brömserburg.
