Unter-Falkenstein Castle (Ruin)

Unter-Falkenstein Castle, also known as Neu-Falkenstein, is a castle ruin in the municipality of Flintsbach am Inn in the Bavarian district of Rosenheim. The hilltop castle is located at the foot of the Hoher Madron and Petersberg.
The castle was probably built in the 13th century by the Sigbotonen. After the Falkenstein family died out, it was owned by the Lords of Hundt since its sale in 1556 to Georg Hundt from Lauterbach, before it burned down in 1784.
Preserved from the complex are the mighty keep, which is still inhabited today, as part of the core castle, and the foundation walls of the outer bailey.
