Neu-Elkerhausen Castle (Ruin) (Gräveneck)

Burg Neu-Elkerhausen+
Neu-Elkerhausen Castle is a castle ruin on the so-called "Schartenberg" at an altitude of around 160 m above sea level near Gräveneck, a district of Weinbach in the Hessian district of Limburg-Weilburg.
After the Lords of Elkerhausen lost their ancestral castle, Elkerhausen Castle, in 1352, they built Neu-Elkerhausen Castle as a Diez fief on the Schartenberg, which was destroyed in 1396. - The remains of the curtain wall and the stump of the square keep are freely accessible.
