Jungnau Castle (Ruin)
Jungnau Castle, also known as Jungnau Palace, is a castle ruin on a rocky hill at about 620 m above sea level in the town center next to St. Anna Church in Jungnau, a district of Sigmaringen in the Sigmaringen district in Baden-Württemberg.
The local castle, built by Burkkhard von Jungingen in direct proximity to Schiltau Castle, was first mentioned in 1333 as being in the possession of his sons Burkhart and Johannes and was in the possession of the Counts of Werdenberg in 1418. From 1534 to 1806, the castle was owned by the Fürstenbergs and became the seat of the chief bailiff. The palas of the castle was converted into a palace. In 1842, the upper part of the tower was demolished, and in 1844, the palace was demolished except for the keep. A school and town hall were built on the site.

Of the former castle and palace complex, only the keep, whose half-timbered superstructure with a gabled roof was demolished in 1844, remains at a height of 18 meters on a base area of 8.55 × 8.85 meters, equipped with a pointed arched entrance at a height of twelve meters and a wall thickness of three meters. On the north side of the keep was the medieval palas and later palace building. At the site of the rectory was the granary, of which foundation walls with individual bossed ashlar blocks have been preserved. The keep is also called "Kaiser Wilhelm Tower" today.
