Haimburg Castle (Ruin)
The Haimburg ruin, also known as Homburg, Homberg or Hainburg, is a castle ruin at the end of a high protruding mountain spur above the steep drop to the Eyach valley, 2.5 kilometers west of the Baden-Württemberg municipality of Grosselfingen in the Zollernalbkreis district.
The hilltop castle was built between 1275 and 1325 by Count Friedrich VI. Count of Zollern and mentioned in 1344, after which it was destroyed. In 1420 it was rebuilt by Konrad von Bubenhofen and still used in 1465. It was probably finally destroyed in 1642.
Of the small complex, remnants of the keep-shield wall, the neck ditch and the polygonal curtain wall are still preserved.
