Granegg Castle (Ruin)
The castle ruin Granegg, also called Graneck or Michelstein, is a castle ruin on the Schlossfelsen (castle rock) west of the municipality of Egesheim in the district of Tuttlingen in Baden-Württemberg.
The rock castle was built in the 11th century by the Lords of Michelstein, is first mentioned in 1102, and later came into the possession of the Ifflinger family. The castle was destroyed in 1356 and 1377 by the Imperial City of Rottweil, with remnants of walls and part of the keep remaining.
In 1923, the tower ruin was owned by the Catholic Church Administration in Rottweil and in 1931 it passed to the Swabian Albverein, which took over the securing of the ruin.
