Felsenburg is a castle ruin above the municipality of Kandergrund in the canton of Bern. Built at the end of the 12th century, the castle served to control the Lötschberg Pass and is located in the vicinity of Tellenburg Castle and the Mühlenen castle ruin.
The origins of the construction are unknown. In 1339, the castle was first mentioned in a document when the Bishop of Sion handed over Felsenburg and the surrounding area as a fief to the Baron von Turn. In 1400, Bern acquired the entire Frutigtal valley, made Tellenburg the seat of the Bernese bailiff, and allowed the neighboring Felsenburg to fall into disrepair.
