Château Palezieux (Ruin)

The remains of the Castle can be visited

The Lords of Palézieux founded a castle next to the Broye bridge in the 12th century. Successors to the Lords of Palézieux at the beginning of the 14th century were the Lords of Billens, who founded the walled town of Palézieux near the castle and granted it town rights in 1344. At the end of the 14th century, Palézieux came under the Counts of Gruyères, the lordship was united with that of Oron, and Palézieux was demoted to the rank of a village.

Only a few wall remnants of the former Palézieux Castle remain.
