Burladingen Castle (Ruin)
The Burladingen ruin is the ruin of a spur castle on the high Hochwacht near the town of Burladingen in the Zollernalbkreis district in Baden-Württemberg.
Around 1100, the castle was presumably built as the first hilltop castle of the noble free lords of Burladingen. In 1185, a castle chapel in honor of the apostles Peter and Paul and John the Baptist on the Hochwacht was consecrated, and its destruction "in a vandalic war" was mentioned. In 1250, the castle was abandoned as a residence. Of the former castle complex, which featured a palas, a keep, a zwinger, a castle courtyard, a rampart, and a moat, only the stump of the keep and remnants of walls remain.
