Burgberg Castle (Ruin)
Burg Burgberg, also known as the Tower, is a ruined moated castle in the center of Burgberg, a district of the municipality of Königsfeld im Schwarzwald in the Schwarzwald-Baar district of Baden-Württemberg. It is located at an altitude of approximately 695 meters above sea level.
The moated castle, already mentioned in 1116, was built by the Lords of Burgberg and expanded in the 13th century. It served as a prison for Burg Bärenberg (Weiberzahn) and Burg Waldau. Later, the castle passed to the House of Württemberg and was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War.

Of the former castle complex, a considerable part of the square keep (height: 15 meters, entrance height: 6 meters) made of ashlar masonry and some wall remains are still preserved today. The castle remains are surrounded by houses and are privately owned.
