Bärenberg Castle, also known as Bärenburg or Weiberzahn, is a ruined castle near Königsfeld in the Black Forest in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in Baden-Württemberg. The spur castle is located at an altitude of around 718 meters above sea level on a spur of the Hutzelberg.
The castle was probably built at the end of the 11th century by the Lords of Burgberg (vassals of the Lords of Falkenstein and Zimmern) and first mentioned in 1116. Other owners included the Lords of Geroldseck and the Counts of Württemberg. Only minor remains of the mighty tower made of roughly hewn ashlar blocks are preserved, as well as the neck ditch. Burgberg Castle, built around 1116, served as a prison for Bärenberg Castle.
