The Attinghausen ruin, also known as Schweinsberg, is a historic castle complex in the Canton of Uri, Switzerland. It is situated at approximately 484 meters above sea level in the municipality of Attinghausen and bears witness to the former importance of the nobles of Attinghausen.
History+
The origins of Attinghausen Castle date back to 1240, when it was first documented as the seat of the nobles of Attinghausen. However, its history came to an abrupt end when the complex was presumably burned down by Uri farmers in 1365, leading to its current state as a ruin.
