Old Castle Bretzenheim

The Bretzenheim Castle+
History+
Count Emich von Falkenstein resided in Bretzenheim from 1589 to 1620 and had a castle built for this purpose, which, however, was largely destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. Count von Velen later built a new castle wing, and his successors expanded the castle complex, which is still largely preserved today in the center of the village (Kirchstraße 2).
