Zscheckwitz Manor

To be privately owned

The manor house was built in the 11th century and first mentioned in a document in 1216. In 1412, the von Ziegler family is named as the owner. After this, ownership changed in 1550 to Valerian von Krakaudas, in 1574 to the von Lützeburg family, in 1722 to Dr. Moritz Nitzsche, in 1738 to Johann Friedrich Gerven (who had the current manor house built), then the von Sahr family, and in 1862 to the Hauptmann family. In 1904, the house was rebuilt. The outbuildings were erected on the walls of the predecessor buildings in the second half of the 19th century. The estate was one of the few estates that was not expropriated by the communists. It was only around 1958 that the estate was then used by the LPG Kleincarsdorf. After 1989, the former owners were able to buy back the property. After a major fire in 1992, the estate was sold to the Bavaria Klinik in 1995. They established a neurological rehabilitation center for children and adolescents on the estate.
