Die Anfänge und wechselnde Besitzverhältnisse

Weigsdorf was first mentioned in 1350 as Wygandistorf, owned by the Lords of Kopporitz. A knight's seat was mentioned in 1433, and a knight's estate in 1621. Ownership changed in 1613 to the von Nostitz family, in 1621 to the von Rüdiger family (builders of the manor house), in 1757 by inheritance to the von Oberländer family, in 1791 to C. G. F. von Nostitz, in 1833 to the Bautzen Rural Teacher Seminary, in 1837 to Gustav von Nostitz-Wallwitz, in 1851 to A. B. von Krieger, in 1861 to E. von Könneritz, and in 1886 to the von Oppell family. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Thereafter, the house was used as a kindergarten and youth home.
