Struppen Manor
History of the Manor House+
The manor house dates back to a farmstead "on the mountain" mentioned in the 15th century. Owners included the Lords of Oelsnitz, von Loß, and von Liebenau. From 1821 to 1830, the estate was converted into a castle-like structure with the addition of the tower. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After 1945, the castle served as a hospital, sanatorium, and psychiatric nursing home. However, the property has been vacant for quite some time now.
