Schenkenberg Manor

In a document from the year 1252 by Dietrich von Brehna, it is mentioned that the Counts of Landsberg had built a castle in Schenkenberg. In 1350, ownership changed to the von Schenkenberg family, who had the castle built on the walls of the existing fortress. After this, ownership changed in 1558 to the von Miltitz family. Towards the end of the 18th century, the old castle was demolished and replaced by a new building. Ownership changed in 1791 to the Wenck family, in 1885 to the Baumgarten family, and from 1936 until his expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945 to Herbert Lindstedt. Today, the manor is a commercial property and is used, among other things, by an education and project development company and a restaurant.
