Sahlis Manor

A manor in Sahlis is already mentioned in 1350. In 1398, it was first documented as an outwork of Kohren Castle. In 1428, the manor was owned by the brothers von Meckau. In 1445, a knight's seat is mentioned. In 1454, Heinrich Hildebrand von Einsiedel bought the estate. In 1557, Sahlis became an independent knight's estate owned by Heinrich von Einsiedel. In 1596, the manor house was destroyed. In the same year, Wolf von Löser bought the estate and had the current manor house rebuilt on the walls of the previous building. Thereafter, ownership changed in 1700 to J. F. von Eckhardt, in 1720 back to the Lords von Einsiedel, and in 1754 to the Crusius family. In 1776, the manor house was rebuilt. In 1945, the Crusius family was dispossessed and expelled by the communists. From 1949, the house served as an apprentice dormitory. In 2004, the estate passed into private hands.
