Niedermosel Manor

In Mosel, a manor house owned by Fridericus de Musella was first mentioned in a document around 1248. In 1440, Konrad von der Mosel sold the property to the city of Zwickau. In 1464, Elector Ernst and Duke Albrecht enfeoffed the brothers Konrad and Georg von der Mosel with the knight's estate. In 1744, the then owner Georg Friedrich von der Mosel sold the estate to Caspar Siegismund Marschall von Bieberstein. Thereafter, the property changed hands in 1748 to Karl Wilhelm von Bose, later to the Neander family, and in 1766 to the Richter family. The manor house was built between 1770 and 1779. In 1807, the Richter family bought the knight's estate of Mittelmosel. Thereafter, the property changed hands in 1838 to Gustav Franz Käferstein, in 1847 to the Ebert family, in 1925 to Ottilie Freifrau von Milkau (née Ebert), and in 1936 to the community of heirs. After World War II, contrary to the usual practice of the communists, the property was not expropriated. The estate was leased by the community of heirs in 1946 to Max Herrmann, in 1949 to Franz Erich Grabisna, and in 1953 to the LPG (Agricultural Production Cooperative). In 1967, the LPG bought the property. Today, the knight's estate is privately owned.
