Kössern Manor

The estate was established around 1500. At the beginning of the 18th century, the manor house was built by Wolf Dietrich von Erdmannsdorff. Subsequently, from 1772 until their expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945, the estate was owned by the von Abendroth family. In 2012, the von der Heiden & Tobaben families purchased the property.

The manor house is a plastered building with two storeys and eleven axes, featuring a mansard hip roof. The central projection on the garden side is particularly striking, adorned with a balcony and a coat of arms. The manor house was extensively renovated between 2012 and 2015.

The estate comprises approximately 100 hectares of land, including fields, forests, and a lake. The estate also features several outbuildings, such as a barn, stables, and a coach house. These buildings were also renovated between 2012 and 2015.

The manor house is surrounded by a spacious park, which was laid out in the 19th century. The park features a variety of trees and shrubs, as well as a pond and several sculptures. The park is open to the public and is a popular destination for walks and relaxation.

Today, the manor house is used as a private residence. The estate also offers holiday apartments and event spaces. The park is open to the public and is regularly used for cultural events.
