Heideck Manor (Lintfort)

A formerly significant knight's seat, first mentioned in a document in 1301 as a Kurköln knight's fief. The moats around the property, now silted up, once nine to twelve meters wide and 1.80 meters deep, are still clearly visible. In addition to the residential building, the massive, square watchtower is still preserved. The first owner was a Johannes von Moers, who owned it as a Kurköln knight's fief. Later it was enfeoffed to Dietrich von Eyll, whose branch of the family also owned Haus Eyll.

In 1875, the complex passed into the possession of the Struken family, who still use the property for agriculture today and operated a distillery in the left part of the building until 1948. The "Rittergut Haus Heideck" brand was known far beyond the borders of Kamp-Lintfort. The complete distillery system, built around 1900, is still preserved in its original condition under a lot of dust and cobwebs, but cannot be released for official viewing for safety reasons.
